Eight Northern Health Docs Up for Awards

Prince George, B.C.- Eight Physicians under the umbrella of Northern Health, are among 62 Doctors province wide who will be officially acknowledged for their dedication and commitment to improving primary health care.
The physicians receiving awards were selected by the General Practice Services Committee (GPSC) for their contributions to the committee's practice support program. GPSC is a joint committee of the Ministry of Health Services and the BC Medical Association (BCMA) that works to renew primary health care in this province.
The Northern Health recipients are:
- Dr. William Clifford, Prince George
- Dr. Sean Ebert, Vanderhoof
- Dr. Herman Greeff, Prince Rupert
- Dr. Vanita Lokanathan, Masset
- Dr. Paul Mackey, Fort St. John
- Dr. Ray Markham, Valemount
- Dr. John Pawlovich, Fraser Lake
- Dr. Andrew Sear, Quesnel
GPSC provides B.C. physicians with the opportunity to participate in a number of incentive programs that support patients with chronic disease, train physicians for the uptake of obstetric and maternity care and aim to increase the number of medical graduates entering general practice.
"It is important to recognize those who are innovative in developing ways to eliminate gaps in care and improve the health of their patients which in turn improves the health of the community," said Dr. Bill Mackie, BCMA president.

If they are changing that then great, its about time our medical system gets better, there is no reason for it to be faltering.
If the government is at fault vote them out, and get one that promotes health care as one of its cornerstones.
Ostrich thinking does not change things, action does. what kind of health care would you like in place when you need to use it? Or your kids need it? or your parents? I would think very god heralth care should be a guarantee not a wish.
