Quesnel Approves Early Spending

Quesnel, .C. - The Council of Quesnel has   given early approval to several  capital projects valued  at nearly $1.2 milion dollars.

The projects that will move forward are:

General Capital Fund

  • Demolition of old library building $25,000
  • West Fraser Timber Park sewer connection $97,000
  • Tatchell Road paving $75,000

Quesnel Works: Capital Reinvestment Program

  • North Star Road upgrade $140,000
  • Road re-paving (sites to be announced) $300,000

Equipment reserve fund

  • Road grader $350,000

Water fund projects

  • Harcourt water main upgrade $47,000
  • Allard and Adam water main replacement $49,000
  • Well number 7 pump replacement $30,000
  • Fire hydrant upgrades $8,000

Sewer fund projects

  • Sewer line replacement - lane off Lewis Drive $16,500
  • Main line renewal along Quesnel River $58,000

I hope some of the road re-paving is on Hwy 97 between the bridge and the hospital, (Front Street) this stretch of road is not wide enough, has no turn lanes and has no parking.
What a nightmare it has become and seems to have become much worse in the last few months.
