Vanderhoof, B.c.- Three people were taken to hospital this morning following a single vehicle crash  east of Vanderhoof.

RCMP say  the crash happened around 8:30 this morning approximately 20 km east of Vanderhoof on Highway 16 near Degal Pit Road.

Three officers attended the scene and found that an east bound 2005 GMC Trailblazer encountered an icy section of road and went off the highway. Of the five occupants, three were taken to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

One of the occupants had to be assisted out of the vehicle by Vanderhoof Fire/Rescue.

Road conditions are likely a contributing factor, however the investigation is continuing.
