Provincial Election Means Tightened Rules On Comments

We are heading into a provincial election and we are faced with the same old problem. People registering or representing a party to make partisan comments on behalf of their respective parties or candidates.
Control the forum and try and control what the outcome will be in the next election. Even old time pollsters seem to have gotten into the groove and if it continues there will be one simple way to correct the problem, we will remove the ability for anyone to comment on political stories.
Simply put, abuse it , you lose it. We could simply take away the privileges of those who are registering to get their party’s message across , we could go further and take away the privileges of some of our old contributors who seem bent on getting only their message out, and we will , if need be.
If you want to promote your candidate and political party, buy an ad, if you can’t offer constructive criticism on the issues at hand, stay away from your computer.
If you simply want to hurl insults back and forth, make sure that you put your name and phone number on the post, that will allow you both to argue on the phone at your leisure leaving Opinion250 to do what it is there to do and that is to report on the news and events, and accept comments with some basic common sense.
Thank you

I will examine all political stories in a non-judgmental fashion, before carefully crafting a non-partisan comment.
That's my pledge. Hold me to it.
