The more things change, the more they remain the same.
They forgot to include cell phones/texting.

Hey. Are students allowed to bring calculators and spell checkers to class these days or do they still have to do math in their heads and remember how to spell?
Oh Gus, We're just lucky they even show up. We lead them to grow up in a sheltered life until they graduate. in hopes that when they leave school that by a magic wand they can intergrate themselves into the workforce.

I get a kick out of turning down these kids, when I ask for there attendance record. I have simple philosophy, if they can't attend school, there not going to be committed to your job.
Look at the difference between drugs and smoking, at least they are getting the message smoking is bad for your health! Male incidents dropping and female incidents rising, time for a study.
Just for the record, there are many kids out there who are clean, upstanding, hard working individuals.

My kid takes a calculator to class and only uses it for certain functions. Has to show all the work he did to get the answers. It's just like when I was in school; nothing has changed there.

Spell checkers - not sure where they come in, but it's a sign of the times. I don't like that at all, but again, I see that there are a number of posters who could use a spell checker ;-)
Walking the dog a couple of weeks ago and went by the high school at lunch time.
Across the road was a group of about 7 or 8 kids passing a bomber.
Big blue cloud and a lot of laughing.
They didn't even hide it when I walked by.
Ya,I would say it's a problem, because these kids were all going back into class and how do you teach stoners anything?
