Spirit of the North Day Raises $1.9 Million

Prince George, B.C.- The 9th annual Spirit of the North Day fundraising campaign has resulted in $1.929,318.00 in donations.
The five hour PGTV event saw commercial breaks in two movies replaced with updates, presentations and pledges.
The Spirit of the North Foundation has pledged $1.8 million towards upgrades to the surgical suites at the Prince George Regional Hospital.These upgrades and improvements in the lab, ambulatory care and diagnostics areas will help PGRH get ready for the 2012 arrival of the Northern Cancer Clinic.
Major donations were made by:
- Auxiliary to PGRH - $295,356
- Brent and Kali Marshall and Family - $80,000

Spirit of the North Executive Director David Wharrie says it was a wonderful day of regnition for supporters and donors "We re delighted to recognize so many members of the community who have come together to show their support. The donations we recognized today came from individuals, families, corporations and community groups that are committed to improving healthcare in our community."
