Prince George, B.C. - The Air Quality advisory for Prince George has been lifted.

Based on the air quality data, the high levels were mainly due to road dust and some contribution from combustion emissions (smoke). The 24 hour PM10 rolling average was 29 µg/m3 at the Plaza 400 downtown at 7:00 am, 30 µg/m3 at BCR and 25 µg/m3 at College Heights. The 24 hour PM2.5 rolling average was 6 µg/m3 at the Plaza 400 downtown site and 4 µg/m3 at College Heights.

no free bus rides today
What if yer on the bus while it is being canceled?
Gee, NO poor air quality today, industry must have shut down all the mills! Couldn't have anything to do with the WET raods suppressing the ROAD DUST!

I get a real kick out of the number of people coming here to cry about the big NASTY Pulpmills that do nothing but pollute when there is an air quality advisory, and then have nothing to say when the advisory is lifted.
"Gee, NO poor air quality today, industry must have shut down all the mills! Couldn't have anything to do with the WET raods suppressing the ROAD DUST"

Sure it would. Wet roads equal less road dust. Many folks commented on the road dust being an issue the last few days so it's not exactly a news flash . . .

Of course, what will be your excuse for the other 11 months of the year when we don't have road dust and we still have bad air? Backyard weenie roasts gone out of control? Too many folks idling their cars at Timmie's? Strong winds blowing sand off of the cutbanks? Oh I got it, the WEATHER DID IT, along with help from Professor Plum and a candlestick . . . LMAO!
Was the editors note about free transit added after I made the comment or did I skip that part of the article?
Did I miss something??? When have we ever had an air quality advisory in affect for 11 months of the year???
"When have we ever had an air quality advisory in affect for 11 months of the year"

If you re-read my post, you'll see that's not what I said. And yeah, if you believe that industry plays no role in the bad air that we do encounter when the road dust isn't an issue, then yes you have been missing something :)
