Fatal Crash North of P.G.

Prince George, B.C. - One person is dead, two others in hospital following a three vehicle collision on Highway 97 , north of Prince George.
The collision occurred shortly after 5:00 pm this afternoon. All three vehicles were southbound on Highway #97 when the collision, (which involved a commercial transport unit) occurred.
One male has been pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash. A second male has been flown to the Prince George Regional Hospital via Air Ambulance, with serious but non-life threatening injuries. A female was also transported to the hospital vehicle ground ambulance and is being treated for minor injuries sustained in the crash.
The cause of this crash remains under investigation by the B.C. Coroner's office and the R.C.M.P.
No contributing factors have been established at this time.
Highway #97 is currently closed to all traffic, however there is no available detour at this time. The highway will remain closed for approximately four (4) to five (5) hours while the police investigators document the forensic evidence at the scene and ensure the crash scene evidence is secured.
It is anticipated the highway may open around midnight. Motorists are recommended to adjust or change their travel arrangements accordingly.
