More Candidate Forums Announced

Prince George, B.C.- As the campaigning for the provincial election continues, three more All Candidate Forums have been announced.
Tonight, the Prince George Construction Association’s 2009 Provincial Election Candidates’ Forum is being held this evening, at the Ramada Hotel.  The Forum is open to all members and guests of the Prince George Construction Association and   will begin at 7:50 pm.

 

On Thursday, April 30th, the College of New Caledonia Students Union is sponsoring a forum at CNC. It is set to go from 6-9:30 p.m. 
Then on May 7th, in Mackenzie, the Chamber of Commerce in that community will hold an All Candidates Forum at St. Peters Catholic Church. That forum is set to get underway at 7 p.m.

The UNBC students should ask the candidates why there is discrimination in hiring and renewing the contracts of their UNBC professors? These show a lack of respect for the legal terms of faculty agreement by UNBC.

I specially found it very troubling to read the part where the PG jail employee interfers in renewals of UNBC professors and says "Wrongful dismissal cases are incredibly tough to prove in court. They are also very, very costly for the applicant. Can they sue you personally--no. They could go after the university and you would merely be one of the players".

Is this how professors and students should be evaluated and treated in UNBC? The BC minister of Advanced Education should investigate this or resign.
