May is Motorcycle Safety Awareness month, and the seven motorcycle clubs in Prince George are getting together to bring that awareness to the public, with displays at Pine Centre Mall tomorrow and Saturday, and a Safety Show ‘n Shine in the Pine Centre parking lot in front of Zellers next Saturday, May 9, from 1-5.

Other groups supporting the Motorbike Safety Show n Shine include the RoadHealth coalition, which will have a tent and display on site and be distributing road safety materials, and the Prince George Brain Injured Group, which will be selling refreshments. PG BIG, as they’re known, provides services for people with traumatic brain injuries, many of which occur from motor vehicle, motorbike and ATV crashes.

The May 9 Show ‘n Shine will be preceded by a “fallen rider” memorial ride through the city at 11, leaving from the Pine Centre parking lot.

I have riden motorcyle and have my share of close calls.
Today I want to appeal to those who ride like idiots to give vehicle drivers a break. My vehicle doesn't maneuver like yours, so cutting in and out of traffic, slamming on your brakes because the room you thought was there really wasn't, does little to help me save your butt from being scatttered all over the hood of my car.
I'll do my part but you have to help out as well.
Well I just seen the ultimate yoyo and a motorcycle....in city limits, travelling very much in excess of posted speed, a smoke in one hand and a coffee cup in the other....way to go numbskull...maybe your cruise control will stick on one time....
