Kamloops, B.C. - The BC Forest Service says the wildfire burning 65 km west of Lillooet has stayed aggressive, increasing its size to approximately 800 hectares.  Officials say the jump is due to more accurate mapping and increased activity.

Heavy machinery is focusing on the north flank of the fire, while crews are facing challenges of difficult terrain and hot and dry conditions. Structural protection units have also been brought in for structures in close to the flames.

An evacuation order was issued for properties west of Pearson Pond along Gun Creek Road, from the intersection of Tyaughton Lake Road and Gun Lake Road to Lick Creek approximately 5.5 km to the west. There is also an evacuation alert in place for the surrounding areas.

The BC Forest Service says there are also road closures in the immediate vicinity of the wildfire.
