Prince George, B.C.-  West Jet is announcing it will be offering non stop flights between Prince George and Puerto Vallarta this winter. The flights will have Saturday departures and passengers can book flight only, or buy a vacation package through West Jet vacations.

The airline had been under contract the past few years to Air Transat Vacations, West Jet provided the plane, Air Transat Vacations the destination, buying a flight only  was not an option. That contract has expired.

West Jet will unveil the full details of its own vacation packages next month, but says the flight only from Prince George to Puerto Vallarta will start at $239 per person with taxes and navigational fees extra. The service will start in November.   Vacationers can buy the flight only, or a package deal with hotel.

"We are pleased to be able to provide guests in Prince George with such easy access to Puerto Vallarta this winter. With our flight schedule, you can leave the snow behind in the morning and enjoy a walk along the Pacific Oceanby the early evening," said Chris Avery, WestJet Vice-President of Revenue and Planning. "It will be easier than ever for people in B.C.'s northern capital to enjoy the sun, sand and surf of the Mexican Riviera."

It is not yet clear what, if anything,  Air Transat Vacations plans for this winter out of Prince George.

That's bull. I booked air only on those flights many times.

This is great news though. Cheaper & it gets Transat out of the picture.
How about Cabo San Lucus
I heard of people who took the flights only.
Dumb question I am sure; $239.00 each way?
or is that incredibly inexpensive for a round trip? For $239 + tax, you could fly down 'for the week end' Someone has to stay home to move snow, so I guess I won't be jetting off into the Mexican sun.
metalman.
i think that if the forest industry keeps going there won't be to many forest workers who can take a job as a cabana boys and sell drinks
