Vacancy Rates Climb

Prince George, B.C.- New stats show the vacancy rate in Prince George is increasing.
The vacancy rate (apartment buildings and row housing with 3 units or more) in April of last year was 2.6%. That rate doubled to 5.3% in April of this year.
There are more rental units available this year ( 38 more) compared to the total 3,727 units available in April of 2008.
When it comes to rent, there has been an increase in rents for 2 and three bedroom units, but the average rent for a bachelor suite has dipped.

The rental rates in this town are outrageous. For what you get apartments and condos are actually cheaper in Vancouver.
still low vacancy rate considering the economy is stuttering.
Everybody's leaving to find decent paying work!
Its far cheaper to own than rent.
