IPG Sees Summit as Chance to Market City

Prince George, B.C.- Some 350 delegates will be in Prince George for the 7th Annual Cancer Summit, and Initiatives Prince George is seizing the opportunity to spread the word about the community.
IPG sees this event as an ideal opportunity to showcase Prince George as a growing health-sciences centre to a national audience of researchers and pharmaceutical companies.
“We intend to take full advantage of having high-ranking delegates in our city, to marketall that Prince George has to offer”, said Tim McEwan, President and Chief Executive Officer of Initiatives Prince George. “Through Tourism Prince George, the ‘Life in Perfect Balance’ brand and materials and Business Prince George, we will present our city as a great place to invest, work, live and play.”
Specifically, Initiatives Prince George’s involvement in the Summit will include:
- Welcome Reception - University of Northern British Columbia Health Research, the Research Universities Council of British Columbia and Initiatives Prince George will host a Welcome Reception and tour of UNBC for Summit delegates and sponsors;
- “Life in Perfect Balance” collateral will be showcased to promote Prince George as a great place to invest, work, live and play. One of the goals of the Summit is to recruit professional staff for Northern Health’s Cancer Control Strategy;
- Tourism Prince George will be part of the Welcoming Table at the Prince George Airport, to introduce visiting delegates to the city.
Delegates from all over Canada and the United States will be attending the summit.
