Flood Mitigation Open Houses Set

Prince George, B.C.- The City of Prince George and Fraser Basin Council will hold open houses and information sessions next week to  offer  updates to  the public on flood risks and flood management options for Prince George.
 
The focus of these sessions will be the flood control solutions report that the City’s technical team recently submitted to City Council.
 
The open houses are set for the 16th and 17th and both will take take place at the Prince George Civic Centre from 5:30 to 7:00 pm.
 
The June 16 open house will be followed by a panel presentation by members of the technical team (7:00 pm). The June 17 open house will be followed by a community discussion session (7:00 pm).
 
At the discussion session, the Fraser Basin Council will facilitate small group discussions to learn about community perspectives, interests, local knowledge and preferences with respect to the flood management options. This information will be summarized in a report for City Council.
