Prince George, B.C. – Thirty firefighters are working on a blaze 50 km northwest of Prince George.
The Steele Lake fire was sparked by lightning during yesterday’s thunderstorm. “There are two helicopters battling the fire which covers about 16 hectares” says Prince George Fire District spokesperson Jillian Chimko.
Air tankers were used to spread retardant on the blaze last night.
The fire is not threatening any structures at this time.
