Mantracker Coming To Quesnel

Quesnel- Mantracker is coming to Quesnel. City council has committed $5,000 dollars towards filming two episodes of the popular television series in the Quesnel area.

Bonterra Productions which produces the show, says the show will bring a great deal of publicity to Quesnel because it is viewed by two million people in Canada and 53 million in the USA.

The filming will take place this summer and the program will be re run 10 to 15 times in 2010.

The series pits two weekend warriors against a tracking expert.

I find it amusing that the town has to contribute $5K to the effort. Is that how they get famous people to come to their town? Ah, star power.

$5K to get international exposure to attract the people you are trying to get to visit the area, it is a stroke of genius.

PG has spent several hundred thousand dollars trying to get athletes to train here for the Olympics and that has yielded nothing.

5k is pocket change and Quesnel is going to be viewed by about 55 million people.

Sheer genius.

The monetary contribution is just a show of good will and commitment. It's called "don't back out of the deal" money.

If they choose a good location, outdoor enthusiasts from all over North America will be exposed to what Quesnel has to offer them, not to mention people who may be interested in property and/or investment.

Fat ass? Clearly you haven't watched the show. I love this show and find myself cheering for mantracker more often than the prey. Especially if it's a couple of cocky young guys. This show really showcases some of the beautiful scenery we have in this country. The fact that it's an original show and not some copy of Survivor, or the greatest race is a bonus.
