Man Charged in Death of 13 Year old Boy
Vancouver, B.C.- A resident of Oliver, BC, will appear in court today, facing charges of Manslaughter, Criminal Negligence Causing Death, Indignity to Human Remains and Forcible Confinement in connection with the death of 13-year-old Adam Williams.
The 50 year old was arrested yesterday in Oliver.
The 5-year investigation began in October of 2004, in Oliver B.C., when a family member reported that Adam Williams had died in January of 2000 in Prince George. Investigators from the Prince George RCMP Detachment conducted the initial investigation, recovering remains later confirmed to be those of Adam Williams from a wooded area on the west end of North Nechako road.
At the time of the murder, the man and Adam Williams’ mother were in a common-law relationship and residing in Prince George. Shortly after the death of Adam, the couple moved to Oliver, B.C.
The investigation remained active and was turned over to the “E” Division Provincial Unsolved Homicide Unit in December of 2007. After an extensive investigation, the results were forwarded to Crown Counsel in Prince George who approved charges against the individual who is scheduled to make his first court appearance in Penticton B.C. today.
The individual’s name will be released after his first court appearance.
