Dr. Charles Jago at the podium  in his last official duty as Interim President of UNBC
Prince George, B.C.- For the second time in three years, Dr. Charles Jago has had his “final day” at UNBC.
He has been in the post of interim President of the University since June 27th of last year, shortly after Don Cozzetto left the post on short notice, less than year after Dr. Jago had “retired” having been president from 1995 to 2006.
He says he will be available in an “advisory” mode to assist the new President, Dr. George Iwama. “There are some loose ends I need to tie up in development, but this is, well and truly my last day” said Jago.
Dr. Jago says he is leaving the post knowing the University is in much better shape than when he took on the job “This has been a good year for research, there has been growth in enrolment, obviously there will be a number of challenges, there always are, but UNBC is in a position to face those challenges.”
He remains very positive about UNBC’s future “This is an incredibly successful new university. It has gone through a very difficult time, but I think it has come out better for it, it seems everyone now has a deeper sense of shared responsibility.”

he truly is an amazing man, He has vision, he yeilds a powerful fist with gentle fingers.
Jago is"good stuff" the stuff we need up here in the north. Why we had to put up with Cozzoto, especially after he resigned and the univeristy felt inclined to give him a payout in the thousnds is beyond me, and many other taxpayers.
I wonder what Mr Jago gets every time he leaves and comes as a replacement maybe big bucks.
He was paid around 250,000 for his short return to the University. Has been retained as well to advise the new President but haven't heard yet how much he will be paid for that.
