Prince George, B.C.- The month of June  was split with two distinct parts says Environment Canada's Jim Steele.  The first half very dry warm with only 4.8 mm of rain through mid month.

Here is his monthly report:

Mean temperatures were running well over 2 degrees above normal during the first half of the month with daytime maximums at or above the 20 degree mark each day. After mid month, a significant change in the controlling weather patterns took place with temperatures cooling significantly and precipitation becoming much more frequent. Afternoon maximum failed to climb above the 20 degree mark from the 20th onwards, not your typical June weather occurrence.

Precipitation came in bunches during the last half of the month, making up for the dry start. Measurable amounts occurred on 11 of the last 15 days. In the end, precipitation managed to recover with almost a normal amount for the month. One should however note that precipitation, in the typical June form of showery in nature, can be highly variable over short distances.
In the end, after a very warm and dry start, the month ended up with slightly above normal temperatures and near normal precipitation.
