Looks like one has to be prepared to sit in on tons of boring meetings to be nominated as citizen of the year.
Thank God for people who are "prepared to sit in on tons of boring meetings"! They are the real movers and shakers in this town, the ones that actually get things done - not the politicians! Congratulations and thank you to all the nominees, past and present!
Does anyone have a list of the various organizations in Prince George that have citizens of the year, organizations of the year and similar awards?

This states the PG Community Foundation released the names of the nominee finalists.

The link at the bottom is to the City of Kelowna's Civic and Community Awards. They are very nicely listed and there are some interesting categories.

All I am trying to bring forward is how one compares someone who prepares bag lunches for survival packs for the less fortunate and volunteers numerous hours preparing holiday meals at St. Vincent de Paul for over 800 less fortunate residents of Prince George to someone who chairs the College Board, the NIT and the Chamber of Commerce?

I believe they are two distinctly different activities which come with two distinctly different benefits to the individuals and to the people they assist in providing those volunteer services.
Right on 'havemercy'! You are so right. A huge congrats to all finalists!
communities in bloom is pretty important eh?
