Canada's Chief Electoral Officer, Jean-Pierre Kingsley, is set to hold a news conference in Ottawa later this morning to outline the course of the 39th General Election...

Today marks the start of the revision of the voters lists.  "Because we now prepare lists of electors from the names in the National Register of Electors," says Kingsley, "most Canadians are already registered to vote."  But anyone needing to register, or correct their name or address will have between now and January 17th to do so.

Voter Information Cards will be mailed out to individuals on the list December 28th and 29th.  Advance Polls will be held Friday, January 13th, Saturday, January 14th, and Monday, January 16th.
