Prince George District Teachers Association one of the many groups showing support for  Gay Pride
Prince George, B.C.- For the first time in the history of Prince George, a sitting Mayor has taken part in the Gay Pride Parade.

In the past, there has been controversy in Prince George as previous sitting Mayors’ would not put their signature to the proclamation of Gay Pride day. 
 
The Parade wound its way through the downtown with about 150 participants, including, roller bladers,  a pink poodle  and a royal couple.
  
Today’s celebrations have not only a parade on tap, there is a film festival , there is a festival underway at the community Foundation park ( Terry Fox statue) , a film festival that starts at 4:30 at the college ofledonia, then a Pride dance at the Civic centre from 8 -1:30 .
