Prince George, B.C. – The Serious Crime Unit of the Prince George RCMP is investigating the death of a 29 year old male.

Police say Darren Paterson was taken to Prince George Regional Hospital by ambulance on July 14^th. He told ambulance attendants that he had been assaulted earlier in the day, somewhere in the downtown core of Prince George.

Paterson would not say where he had been assaulted or by whom. 

After arrival at hospital, his condition deteriorated and Paterson succumbed to his injuries.

An autopsy will be conducted tomorrow in Kamloops to determine the cause of death.

Police are now asking anyone with information, or who may have witnessed an altercation in the downtown core around 2 Tuesday afternoon,  to contact the Serious Crime Unit or Crime Stoppers.
