Monday Storm Blamed for Death of Quesnel Man

Quesnel, B.C.- A storm that ripped through the Quesnel area on Monday  afternoon is being blamed  for the death of an area  man.

RCMP say they were called to  attend  the scene of a sudden death approximately 25 km northwest Quesnel,off Rau Road at approximately 3:12 PM.

Investigation revealed that at about 1:45 PM, Alfred King, an 84 year old resident of Quesnel was operating an ATV on his farm. A severe weather incident occurred resulting in high winds, heavy rain and ice pellets. The winds appear to have toppled a 30 m by 20 m hay barn while the victim was driving the ATV by the structure. The roof of the barn struck the victim and he subsequently died of injuries received.

The exact nature of the severe weather incident remains under investigation. A thunderstorm passed over Quesnel during the time frame.

bad luck, but then again,your 84 and still able to ride a ATV. Sure is better than dying on a bed where you soiled it 1/2 hr earlier.
