Snowbirds flip the "smoke switch" as they  prepare to  land at Prince George Airport.
Prince George, B.C.- The Snowbirds, Canada’s precision flying team, made a pass over Prince George earlier today, as they came in for a refuelling stop at Prince George Airport.
The Snowbirds are taking part in the 100 years of flight celebrations, and are committed to doing 100 fly pasts as part of that celebration.
In Ft. St. John over the weekend for the air show in that community, the Snowbirds are now on their way to Airdrie Alberta, where they will be July 22nd, to be followed by the Alberta International Air Show in Lethbridge on July 25th.

And you guys thought no one would show up to refuel!
That is funny, travism.
I like the refueling truck. Vintage 1986.
which is pretty good Palopu since the aircraft its re-fueling are Vintage 1966

The Candair Tutor was last produced around 1967

even the Forces have stopped using the Tutor as trainers in 2000 when the CT-156 harvards and CT155 Hawks came about ... only the Blizzard Buzzards use em now

The Malaytions used them for a light attack plane up till the late 80s
So let me see. Some people posted about the money that it costs to send RCMP around doing their musical ride and how that is a waste of of money.

So, would this also not be a waste of money? I mean, could they not find some cheaper stunt pilots to do the same thing if they really wanted to do it for promotion? And maybe get some cheaper planes to boot.

Wing wanlkers would be so coooooool!!!!
Are the Show Birds showing how good the refuelling services are here in Prince George? A marketing thing for the cargo planes.
Would have been nice given they knew they were coming here, to have a bit of notice to be able to actually see the fly by, etc. Must be one of those top secret missions, flying from air show to air show.
They each get $1,000 more for each such fly by. There is no money available for that.
travism, they didn't need the extended runway to fill up the Snowbirds...the so called big airplanes that are supposed to be rushing in to be serviced here are still imaginary.

Will it ever happen? Maybe..in extreme emargency....
But we would be well advised not to hold our breath.
Just like typical tourists, them pilots. Eat here and get gas. Be it a car, motor home or jet plane. Is this all we here in PG are good for?
gus ... you wont find a cheaper act/aircraft than the snowbirds ... the pilots are armed forces and dont get anything above their Captians salary for their 2 year tour with the 431 squad and the Tutor is an extremely cheap aircraft to operateas it uses actually less fuel than a Pitts special (the prop driven common stunt plane) to do the same thing.

I dunno where you get your Info Gus but they do not get a grand for each such flyby....
