Firefighters Making Progress in West Kelowna

Kelowna, B.C.- The Terrace Mountain fire near Fintry has grown to more than 1,000 hectares. The good news is, it is not threatening any structures at this time. The fire is 20% contained and crews will be using heavy equipment to contain the flames. Helicopters will provide support to the ground crews. There are 70 firefighters, 8 helicopters and 5 pieces of heavy equipment working on this blaze.
Meantime, the Glenrosa fire in West Kelowna is 40% contained and has been re-mapped at 303 hectares. Evacuation orders remain in effect for some areas, but 6,000 people were allowed back to their residences earlier today. There are 140 firefighters, 10 helicopters and 2 pieces of heavy equipment  working on this blaze.
Rose Valley Reservoir fire has been remapped at 107 hectares. This fire is now 20% contained. There are 40 firefighters, 10 pieces of heavy equipment and 4 helicopters providing air support on this fire. Evacuation orders have been issued for some residents in the area.

I hope they catch the fire bug, and his/her picture is published across the province. If they can't pay for the damage, than they should spend there time doing community service until it is paid off. i don't care if they are minor, as long as they are twelve years and older, they should know better.
A tip of the hat to those brave firefighters battling this blaze. Keep up the great work and know that many people are proud of the work you do!
