Prince George, B.C.- The Provincial Greenhouse Gas Inventory report (2007) will be the baseline for comparison   as the Province pushes to reduce GHG emissions by at least 33% in 2020.
The report shows  total greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in British Columbia in 2007 were 67.3 megatonnes carbon dioxide equivalent (Mt CO2e).
GHG emissions are attributed to six defined sectors — energy (with three sub-sectors), industrial processes, solvents and other product use, agriculture, waste, and afforestation and deforestation.
The trends in GHG emissions in B.C. show an increase of  3.8% from 2006 to 2007 and increased by 7.6% over the ten year period from 1997 to 2007.

I did not realise that it was such an exact science for measuring this? I really have to call bull!!
Maybe we could also see the pie chart where BC and Canada sit in terms of worldwide GHG emissions. Canada - 2%, BC a fraction of that.
It really does not matter what BC, or Canada does to reduce GHG's. China is bringing online several more coal fired generation plants. It seems that the only way this will ever get resolved will be when the carbon fossil fuels run out. That is only less than 20 years away anyway.

Hopefully someone will have developed a cleaner source of energy to drive our industry and run our homes. I am pretty sure it will happen, the sad part is that it will be an eleventh hour solution with all the inherent problems of any last minute solution.

Enjoy driving for a few hours to your favorite lake to burn a few liters of boat gas before retiring to your propane heated trailer only to reverse your route to your natural gas heated home. Don't forget to rip around the dry forest on your ATV to round things out.
Where do I apply for a job measuring these gases? How are they measured? Which government department is responsible for measuring these gases? Night school courses to learn how to measure gases? The wind coming off the ocean would wreak havoc on content of the air as far as measuring gas goes, I guess. Catchment walls all around the province to contain OUR gases? Methinks if the government limit on this polluting carbon dioxide is to draconian for some businesses, they can kiss those entities goodbye. Then it will put more of the onus on me and thee to pay fer those damn Olympics. (Can I print the word "Olympic" on here without being sued by Vanoc? What a stupid world this is becoming.
