Prince George, BC- The Prince George Airport Authority has won an award for it’s annual report. (at right, one of the "stories" in the Annual report)

The Airports Council International - North America’s 2009 Excellence in Marketing & Communications Contest had 250 entries from 62 airport members in the U.S. and Canada.

The PGAA Annual Report’s goal was to reconnect with the community by focusing on YXS passengers and their stories. By creating emotional moments through photography, the “What’s Your Story” theme provided an effective basis to carry messages out into the community.

“We are extremely honored to be the recipient of this award. This not only provides us with International exposure, but also showcases Prince George and our community. As a small Airport, this allows our message and product to be heard across the industry to Airports of all sizes”, states John Gibson, President and CEO for the PGAA.

The “What’s Your Story” Annual Report speaks to an audience of community interests and passengers. It was meant to not only summarize the Airport’s economic and development performance, but also to emphasize an emotional connection with the people who use YXS.
“Every day, thousands of personal stories unfold within our terminal and the Annual Report helps highlight how the Airport plays an integral role in people’s lives and in our community”, says Mike Davis, Manager of Communications and Business Development for the PGAA.

A multimedia presentation acknowledging all winners will be showcased at the ACI-NA Annual Conference and Exhibition Chairman’s Honors Luncheon on October 14 in Austin, TX. In addition to the presentation, the winning entries will be on display in the Exhibition Hall during the conference in Austin.

That's cool. It won't bring any more aircraft or passengers but it's cool.
phh, I'm gonna start handing out rewards, like this trivial s**t means anything. Jobs on the other hand would gain some respect.
Can I be reminded how many millions of taxpayers dollars have been pumped into that place lately?
Yeah, keep that promotion machine running. Are the high Airport Improvement Fees coming down any time soon? Considering that's where the Airport makes money, I didn't think so.
