Shoot first and ask questions if there is anybody left breathing !
Was it targetted or a random attack? By the descriptions, these guys will never be found, but it would be nice to know if the general public has any cause for concern.
i heard it on the scanner last night they said they left some items behind and the ident team was gonna try to dust them for prints in the morning LOL.no joke the cops were like " just leave them there overnight we will go there in the morning"
I would be pleasantly surprised if the cops even showed up in the morning. The rcmp in Prince George could give lessons in apathy when it comes to 'minor' crimes or crimes that they have a low likelihood of solving. You can bet that the homeowner won't hear from the police again, beyond the morning visit, I mean. Poppa, I am with you on the shoot first program, but would it not be the ultimate in irony if you went to jail for shooting a scum bag who broke into your home? Remember the case of the guy from the Quesnel area about ten years ago who shot an intruder? I believe he went to jail. Quite unfortunate when all he was doing was protecting home and family.

I would hope they spend their time on things that they have a better likelyhood of having an effect. They haven't got the resources to chase down every complaint. It's not like 'CSI'.

The story doesn't mention whether it was a targetted or random attack, maybe the homeowner knows more than he is letting on. He might not know who broke into his house, but maybe he knows why. All speculation I know...
A dog is the best protection you can have against unwanted intruders. At the very least, you can rule out a sneak attack. You will be awake before they get into the house.

Add to that the fact that some of these guys have already been bitten by a police dog, and you have an intruder that already has an aversion to dogs.
I've never heard so much drivel before. The items are left as is because so not to disturb them and any evidence (prints) left behind. Police can only proceed with what information they have. Hopefully the Ident people will get lucky on the items left behind. Most crooks wear gloves anyways.
