Canada Will Play Russians In Hlinka Final

Canada will play Russia in the gold medal game Saturday (8 am Pacific Time) at the Hlinka Memorial Under-18 Hockey Tournament in the Czech Republic.


Canada finished 3-0 in the round robin following a 9-0 victory over the host Czechs. Brett Connolly of the Prince George Cougars has missed the last two games due to a minor hip flexor injury.


The 17-year-old sniper is hopeful of returning to the line-up for the team's championship game this weekend.


The United States will play Sweden for bronze. The Czech Republic will face Slovakia for 5th and 6th.

 

Forward Jaroslav Vlach, the Cougars import draft pick this year, is playing for the Czechs.
