A steady stream of tow trucks crosses the Yellowhead Bridge coming into the bowl area of Prince George,  a special procession to pay tribute to  the late Ron Zacharuk
Prince George, B.C.- Tow trucks from all over B.C. including Hazelton and Kamloops were part of a special procession that made its way from Boeing Road to the Ramada Hotel to honour and celebrate the life of Ron Zacharuk.
The owner of Ron’s Towing  died in hospital in Vancouver on August 15th.
(at right, the procession was lead by a  police car escort, then , the first vehicle in the procession was Ron’s own white GMC pick up.)
With lights flashing, the vehicles wound their way through the city. The procession included emergency vehicles, representing the organizations Ron had worked side by side with over the years.
In addition to the Ron’s Towing fleet of more than two dozen vehicles, there were tow trucks from communities throughout the province including Hazelton and Kamloops.
The procession stretched two kilometers long.

I really liked Ron and I had no idea he passed away. RIP.
This is great.
Ron was a great supporter of motorsports. For many years Ron donated his tow trucks and his drivers volunteered their time at PGARA speedway. Without people like Ron in the community it would be impossible for not profit, volunteer organizations to function. R.I.P.

Ron ran a good organization... I remember one night in the middle of a log yard with a fully loaded b-train buried and sucked into the mud... his truck was there within the hour and it took another three to get winched out of there an inch at a time... me working the truck and his driver working the winch. I couldn't believe how tough those trucks of his are with the kind of torsion we had going should have twisted the frame of the tow truck I would have thought. I was impressed and glad to be on the road again like I'm sure a lot of people are after receiving the services his company provides....
Ron may be gone, but he lives on in the memories and lives of those he has touched.
