Prince George, B.C.- The date has been set for the inquest into the death of Cheryl Ann Bouey.
She died in police custody in the cells of the Prince George RCMP detachment in late June of last year. Bouey and a man had been arrested in College Heights following complaints from the public about a man and woman fighting outside a pub.
The inquest is scheduled for Nov. 2-6, 2009. Presiding coroner Rodrick MacKenzie and a jury will publicly hear evidence from subpoenaed witnesses in order to determine the facts surrounding the death.
The jury will have the opportunity to make recommendations aimed at preventing deaths under similar circumstances in the future.
The inquest will take place at the Prince George law Courts.
