Prince George BC. - Ken Craig, the Manager of By Law Services with the City Of Prince George is no longer in the City's employ.

Calls placed to Craig at City hall are being told that Ken Craig no longer works for the city.

Ken Craig told Opinion 250 that he met with senior management last week, "I needed a break, and we  came to the mutual decision that it was time for me to  go." Craig says he has been in the workforce for 40 years, and leaves his post with  good feelings "It is an awesome place to work".

Craig left his position at City Hall last week but no official comment was made at City Council's Monday night meeting.

Mayor Dan Rogers and City Manager, Derek Bates, are both attending meetings with Cabinet Ministers in Victoria and have not returned calls.

Craig is a former RCMP officer who came to the city about 10 years ago to take over the position.

I didn't know that the city enforced bylaws.
Speaking of which, I wonder when the burned out shell of a building on 2nd avenue is going to be torn down.
They don't! My neighbour has a load of gravel 2 cars and 2 pickups on his front lawn, and they won't do a thing about it. My house is worth less because of it. I know wahhhhh!
They pick their fights...if there is a chance of losing, or possibly getting a punch in the nose they don't seem to do much
As I sit and listen to my neighbour's stereo, I have to concur. Bylaws seem to be very difficult to enforce in this town, particularly if the infraction occurs after 4:30.
Bylaw services is a Big waste of our tax dollars.
I have writen many letters over the last two years regarding a city property that was being used as a garbage dump.
There was more than 10 garbage vehicles, couches, various appliances, stoves, fridges ect. There was also a tracker trailer unit on the property.
The city was unable to do anything about it.
I was furious and I decided to put my property for sale. Obviously I havent sold it yet as the neighbourhood is dump.
I may never invest on property within this city unless things change within city hall.
Im not sure how much power Ken Craig had within the city but the department he worked for is a Joke.

"They pick their fights...if there is a chance of losing, or possibly getting a punch in the nose they don't seem to do much"

Sadly, this is a perfect summary of how bylaw enforcement works in this town.
They don't do anything anyway
They wrote me a ticket many years ago to remove a non conforming sign placed on my commercial building. I did nothing about it, the city did the same. They must pester the hell out of somebody else I guess, for you sure don't see them around much.
metalman.
Goodbye and good ridance to Mr. Craig. The City can do much better!
Here we go...time to be rid of the dead weight on Patricia Blvd......
one down and hopefully many more senior administrators to go!
