Second Degree Murder Charge Laid

Prince George, B.C. – A 34 year old man in Prince George is facing 5 charges, including 2nd degree murder in connection with the death of a man in P.G. in mid July.
On July 14th, 29 year old Darren Lee Paterson was taken to  Prince George Regional Hospital by ambulance.  He told ambulance attendants that he had been assaulted earlier in the day somewhere in the downtown core of Prince George.  He succumbed to his injuries before he could say who had assaulted hiim, or exactly where the incident had taken place.
Prince George RCMP now confirm that 34 year old Robert Oliver Nelson of Prince George has been arrested and is facing five charges; armed robbery, assault with a weapon, uttering a threat, obstruction and 2nd degree murder.  He is in custody and will appear in court again on September 9th.
