Prince George, B.C. - The Willow River Bridge has been closed since last Friday when crews started making repairs to the bridge.  Crews are installing new steel pilings to avoid the kind of ice damage the wood pilings suffered last winter.
The warning signs are out there, the bridge is closed, all traffic detour by Beaver FSR or Bateman Road.
While that may be acceptable to some, as they say “necessity is the mother of invention.”
Take a look at this new idea……the Willow River Ferry!
It seems to work just fine!

Better be careful with the pictures of the ferry system, the liberals may take the idea and scrap the bridge.
A good idea if you can afford to have a vehicle sitting on each side of the bridge.

At least there is sign of construction already underway, at the Cameron street bridge we were detouring for years before they even started construction.
How much is the ferry ride?
Steel? So what happened to the Wood First Policy?
Luv this story...If you can't beat them, be smarter than them!!!
The "Ferry" Ride is by donation. He is a pretty amazing guy. I can't imagine anyone who doesn't give him a little something for the time he spends at the river everyday to help his fellow "strandees"

I would also like to know what happened to the WOOD FIRST policy.
