Prince George, B.C. -   A local upholstery  business owner has lost his life in a crash near Lac La Hache.

38 year old Travis Hallam, who owned Sure Fit Custom Upholstery in Prince George, was in the back seat of a Volkswagen Golf heading southbound on Highway 97 into Lac La Hache last Saturday evening,  when the vehicle veered across the highway and rolled into a ditch on the east side of Highway 97.

Travis was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. He was taken via helicopter to the Williams Lake’s Cariboo Memorial Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Travis Hallam’s wife and sister in law had recently purchased the Dairy Queen in Williams Lake. Travis was in the final stages of making his permanent move to that community. He had closed the upholstery shop in Prince George and was finishing up with the house he owned in this city as he prepared to join his wife in Williams Lake and start his new life.
Travis' funeral will be in Prince George on Tuesday, September 8th, 1:00 PM at the Zion Lutheran Church on Tabor Boulevard.

Bad stretch of highway. Seems there is a fatality weekly there.
