Temperature Records Broken Around Central Interior

Prince George- records fell like Pin Balls in the Central Interior of BC today as warm air became locked over the region. Prince George set a new high of 28-c, beating the old record. Mackenzie hit 26 degrees passing the old record of 24.6; McBride hit 30, surpassing their old record. In McBride they are expected to keep the record as forecasters are calling for temperatures of 28, Sunday, 27 Monday, 26 on Tuesday and 26 on Wednesday.
Quesnel hit 30 degrees also passing the old record; Williams Lake with a temperature of 28 beat the old record set in 1987 of 26.7.
Meantime in the north at Ft St John and Dawson Creek they failed to break the old record. Ft St John hit 23, it needed at temperature of 27.8 to beat the old record set in 1944, while Dawson Creek needed to hit 26.1 set in 1975, and it only reached 25 there today.
To the west in Terrace and Kitimat, they both had days of 18 degrees, a full 8 degrees short of the record.
Just to make you appreciate today’s weather, in 1949 the temperature in Prince George dropped to -7.2 on this date.
