Prince George, B.C.- When the Global Community Monitor and  Bucket Brigade comes to Prince George to do some odour sampling, there will be more than just sampling planned.

Denny Larson, founder of Global Community Monitor and Bucket Brigade, will be here Friday and will be talking at a public meeting hosted by PACHA and the Millar Addition Citizens Coalition (MACC).

The meeting will be at the Coast Inn of the North, 7pm Friday Sept 18th and Denny wants to hear from the community about odours and how people are being effected.

On Friday Morning at 10:30 am there will be a Toxic Tour. Larson along with PACHA reps will be touring the community to see the various plants from which pollution is emitted. The point of this is to familiarize the Global Community Monitor as to the scope of the project they have taken on as well as to help the community identify sources of pollution and their proximity to neighbourhoods.

"Toxic gases that can have serious health effects are too often characterized as merely 'bad odours’ that can't harm you,"  said Denny Larson of GCM.  "But without community involvement in monitoring the reality of what you are breathing, the truth cannot be known.  Prince George citizens are joining a growing movement of communities globally who demand the truth and want real solutions that they define."

“Last weekend was a terrible weekend for odours in Prince George”, said Dave Fuller of PACHA, “Denny couldn’t be coming at a better time to help Prince George address this issue. Neither government nor industry seems to have taken this issue seriously over the years, if they had, we wouldn’t have the problems that we still have today. We need to fix this!”

Larsen will lead a team that will take air samples to have them analyzed for chemical content.

It shouldn't be too hard. I recall days where you could cut the air with a knife.
