Prince George, B.C.- Do not be alarmed if you see ambulances, fire trucks, or smoke, or hear sirens coming from the Prince George Airport area today.
The airport is taking part in a two hour mock disaster that is scheduled to run from 10:00 this morning till noon.
"Operation Red Lawn" is a test of the emergency response by the resources at the Airport and by local emergency services to a disaster. This kind of test must be doe every three years and is sanctioned by the Canadian Aviation Regulation.
The scenario that will be played out over the two hour test cannot be revealed ahead of time in an effort to gauge the response by each agency involved.

Aint nothing like a real drill that everone knows about ....

I think the whole town has been a disaster area for years. High time for something like this. Now why don't they have the drill where the real disaster is - like downtown!
I was listening to this and it was interesting, though for a minute or two my heart was in my throat when I heard a school bus was involved in an accident...thankfully it was all part of the exercise...and not something else.
