Cougars Lose to Portland

Portland, Oregon - The Prince George Cougars were beaten 5-1 by the Portland Winterhawks tonight in Portland.

The Winterhawks struck fast and furious, scoring 4 unanswered goals in the opening period. Portland went 4/6 on the power-play while PG was 0/3. Marek Viedensky scored the only goal for the Cats at 6:03 of the 2nd period. Portland outshot the guests 42-22, including 19-3 in the 1st

The Cougars went 1-2 on their weekend road trip. They beat Chilliwack 7-6 Saturday as Brett Connolly notched a hat trick, including one goal shorthanded. They also lost 2-1 Friday in Vancouver.

The 2-3 Cougars host the Lethbridge Hurricanes Friday and Saturday
