Quesnel, B.C.- Cariboo North MLA Bob Simpson has set another round of town hall meetings. This time, its to gauge concerns over the recent cuts to direct access gaming grants.

“We are hearing from the non-profit sector that these cuts will have a devastating impact on the Cariboo, including the permanent closure of many long standing organizations. The cuts are not focused on one section of our community, they are far reaching and will have a lasting effect” says Simpson.

The town hall meetings will be held at the Gibraltar Room in Williams Lake on October 13th at 7:00pm, and at the Friendship Centre in Quesnel on October 15th at 7:00pm.

The intent of the meetings is to encourage a coordinated community response to the funding cuts

Good luck with your fight. I am confident that the response from our provincial government will be "It is going to happen, whether you like it or not" or "It is already a done deal!" Both famous Campbell quotes. One can only hope. We are losing bit by bit every thing we have a right to. Education, health care and privacy. This is just the begining. I believe that are trying to kill off the small towns. Easier to control a population if they are all together.
