Costco Staff and Corporate Office Make Major Donation to Spirit of the North

Prince George, B.C.- The Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation received a financial boost today from the employees of Costco.
 
The staff and corporate office of Costco, donated $67,558 to the foundation following a month long campaign.
 
Called the “Campaign for Kids” the money was raised through bake sales, raffle of a bar-b-q, and the sale of special teddy bears.
 
The funds raised locally were matched by Costco’s corporate office.
 
The money   will go to the Maternal-Childcare department at Prince George Regional Hospital to purchase items that will improve and enhance the care provided at PGRH.

I think this is a great effort!! Thanks for supporting this community to all involved with this.
A nice community friendly tax deductible donation for the corporation, but hey, it is a real benefit, so kudos, first to the employees for getting the ball rolling and a close second to the corporation for matching the employees' tremendous effort.

Most certainly it is tax deductible, expecially so since this is a charitable organization. However, most of the money is still coming from the bottom line of all those who donated if it was set up the right way and people donated enough.

If that were not the case, then governments might as well fund such organizations directly since there would be nothing to gain.
