Prince George, B.C.- Ooh baby it’s been cold outside!
Prince George broke two cold weather records on the long weekend. Sunday the temperature slipped to -14.2 overnight, breaking the old cold record for that day of -13.2 set in 1972.
Then on Thanksgiving, the temperature fell to -10.1, breaking the October 12th record of -6.7 that had stood since 1942.
“Pretty much every community in the central interior set new cold records on the weekend” says Environment Canada Meteorologist Greg Pearce, “We sent out a notice that was a list as long as your arm.”
Pearce says there is a chance of snow this afternoon, and rain mixed with snow on Wednesday, but the good news is, the temperature will be back up to seasonal norms by Friday, when the high is expected to be +12.

I guess this just throws a wrench into what is being said by those fear mongers who are trying to peddle off "GLOBAL WARMING"....

Yes humanity is poluting the world, yes it would be nice to see it stop. Is that going to happen any tiome soon?

Probably not..but someone is making money out of it!
People have been making money from wars.

People are used to making money from destroying something.

So why should we not make money from destroying the natural environment?

The only way we can make money is through destruction so that we can rebuild.

We have learned to be very efficient. We have not yet learned how to distribute "money" without forcing people to work for it.
Can't wait till winter
Only to those who don't know the difference between "what the temperature is now" and "the climate".
The theory of Global Warming can easily be tossed out because of a couple of cold days. :)

Seriously we are still warming up from the last ice age, fossil remains have shown that the earth has been far warmer than it currently is in the past. Average temperatures 13 degrees Celsius warmer for the dinosaurs, what were they major polluters or what? In fact that higher temperature is pretty must the norm for earth between periods of cold.

All in all if you look at history over the last 2 billion years, we are in one of the coldest periods in history.

Now if I lived in a coastal area that was in danger of flooding, I would be doing all I could to avoid the natural fluctuation, much as those who build below the flood plain cry the loudest for flood protection measures.

Make no mistake, I think the amount we are polluting the earth is hurting our health, and the health of all living things on the earth. We need to take better care of the earth, but global warming (and cooling) is an issue that existed for longer than mankind.

Since the end of the ice age, temperatures have risen 9 degrees Celsius, and the sea level has risen about 300 feet, and still we have more ice than the majority of history. Based on history it is to be assumed that temperatures will rise another 10-15 degrees, and sea levels will rise to flood over the tops of the sky scrapers in New York, and the town of Hope, even if we had never discovered fire.

Speaking of greed Gus, don't forget the people who stand to gain financially from the H1N1. Not saying it is not real, just that it is overplayed, in my uninformed, and humble opinion. I read something recently that stated that, so far anyway, more people die worldwide from 'normal' 'flu than have perished from H1N1.
metalman.
Were not killing the planet.... only mankind
Don't people who live in Richmond ,BC three feet below sea level consider themselves in a floodplain? Hmmm? Insurance for buildings below sea level more than buildings up side a mountain? Sea level rising due to Globull Warming? Where in the world are sea levels rising? Be specific. Don't say computer models show... Computer models are designed by humans. Biased humans? Garbage in, garbage out?

Sea levels are rising, just very slowly as glaciers, and Arctic (& Antarctic) ice melts. In the vicinity of one foot every two hundred years or so.

This shows up less in some areas, and more in others. Alaska, actually has the sea level going down, as it is rising due to tectonic plate movement, and as glaciers melt and take weight off of them. The Louisiana Coast is facing of opposite condition, where it's plate is sinking, and sea levels are effectively rising by a foot every 30 years. BC would be between those two extremes.
Hmmm New Orleans is sinking and I don't give a ?????

Should be an interesting fifty years. Stock up with gold and food. paper money just won't be worth too much.
gold not much good to eat either
dont forget toilet paper
And taxing the hell out of people is going to fix globalwarming? Come on globalwarming I'm Freezing! BTW, how come the rest of the world like China and India,ETC aren't on the global band wagon (taxation). This earth was here before us humans and will be here long after us. NO amount of TAX is ever going to change that!Of all countries to be chosen to fix this so-called globalwarming Canada.
The snow will come, the spring will come after in about 7 months, 2 months of summer and who knew, we'll do it all over again. Still no palm trees growing in my back yard. How Come? TAXED.....
Hope that this message gets through.... Ben, this is martin stone (bryson's son) he told me about your e-paper etc and so i thought that i would send you a note. i live in vancouver, downtown and it is even pretty cold here...not like it is there though....anyways take care....send me an email when you get a chance...mhstone69@canada.com
