Prince George, B.C.- Ooh baby it’s been cold outside!
Prince George broke two cold weather records on the long weekend. Sunday the temperature slipped to -14.2 overnight, breaking the old cold record for that day of -13.2 set in 1972.
Then on Thanksgiving, the temperature fell to -10.1, breaking the October 12th record of -6.7 that had stood since 1942.
“Pretty much every community in the central interior set new cold records on the weekend” says Environment Canada Meteorologist Greg Pearce, “We sent out a notice that was a list as long as your arm.”
Pearce says there is a chance of snow this afternoon, and rain mixed with snow on Wednesday, but the good news is, the temperature will be back up to seasonal norms by Friday, when the high is expected to be +12.
