Prince George, B.C.- Another session of the Small Business Roundtable is set for Prince George.

Between 5:00 and 7:39 this evening, the roundtable will hold consultation with local small business at the Coast Inn of the North.

While the roundtable outlined the areas it hoped to address as being:
·   Human resources access, development and education
·   Reducing regulatory burden for small business
·   Reducing tax complexity for small business
·   Small business opportunities and challenges related to climate change action
·   Small business training priorities
·   Leveraging local opportunities
The HST will, in all likelihood, be a subject brought forward for discussion.

The Minister in Charge, Iain Black, will be addressing the Prince George Chamber of Commerce over lunch today to talk about the impact of the Harmonized Sales Tax on small business.
The Prince George Visit is one of seven planned throughout the province this year.
Tomorrow, a similar evening session will be held in Ft. St. John at the Pomeroy Hotel, while Quesnel’s Senior’s centre will host an evening  session on the 15th.

Is this open to the public or just small business owners?
I think they are talking about a business roundtable. The actual physical table size is small since they want to keep the group small. :-)
At the end of the day, the HST is all about the end user and the additional taxes they will have to pay. Go to the National Citizens Coalition and use the calculator to see how much more you will be paying in taxes. Mine worked out to an additional $1,500 per year. Not acceptable no matter which way I look at it. Enough is enough.

And the government wonders why there is so much of an underground economy? Ha! They are driving people there. And I can't blame them. Too bad. Government is killing initiative to work harder as we get to keep less and less. And their whole purpose is to try to get more and more of our hard earned money. I have one word for them, B__t___ds!
