Prince George Cougars starting goalie James Priestner has quit the team. The 18-year-old Priestner

recently informed the team that he lost his desire to play. Priestner posted a 2-8 record, with a

4.76 GAA and a .872 save percentage. The move leaves the Cats with 18-year-old American

Hudson Stremmel and 19-year-old PG native Alex Wright in net. Stremmel has just joined the Cats

after starting this season with the NCAA Division 1 Colorado  College Tigers of the Western

Collegiate Hockey Association.

What gives???
Preistner gives ....................... up allot of goals.

In all seriousness he said his heart wasnt in it this summer, didnt work out much, now just wants to travel and enjoy life.
No...just wants out of PG that's all!
I thought the problem of players wanting to leave was supposed to be a thing of the past with the new coaching staff in place...
Nah, he wants out of the WHL. Stompin Tom has it right... if his heart isn't in it, why stay?

This isn't unique to the Cougars.
It's like the defense is standing around for the national anthem when they score on him. I don't blame him for being down.
This is the problem with the Cougars. There is NO winning culture here. That culture is created top down. Nothing will change until ownership changes. It is the job of the management to create an atmosphere where players WANT to come here and play and we don't see players leaving or quiting.

It is a shame that we can't have a team that challenges for the top spot every few years. Fans will come back if there is hope!
The best way to establish a winning culture is to win.
Brodsky is all about the whining culture!
