Ritchies Bros Auctioneers Is Not Bankrupt

Prince George- Rumours began to swirl around BC. today that Ritchie Bros Auctioneers, based in BC,had gone into bankruptcy.

In a call to company headquarters in Vancouver, Opinion250 was informed by company spokesperson, Kim Schultz, that there is no basis to the rumour what so ever .The Company that was petitioned into bankruptcy is Ritchies Inc. Is an Art Auctioneer in Toronto and is in no way connected to the BC Company which has offices in Prince George.

Ritchies Inc was petitioned into bankruptcy by the landlord Hildegard Hammer and the proceedings are being handled by trustee Grant Thornton Ltd in Toronto.

There is no connection between the two companies.

Who so you know that could auction off the Ritchie Brothers company? Themselves? Kinda like a suicide insolvency.

There was just a big article about Ritchie in the Vancouver Sun several days ago. They have built a new headquarters building in Burnaby complete with daycare and gym. Doesn't sound like bankruptcy to me.
