Prince George, B.C.- The inquest into the death of Cheryl Ann Bouey gets underway this morning in Prince George.

The 42  year old  woman died in a cell in the RCMP detachment in late June of 2008.

Five days have been set aside to hear evidence from subpoenaed witnesses in an effort to determine the facts surrounding her death.

A Coroner’s inquest cannot assess blame. The Coroner’s Jury will have an opportunity to make recommendations aimed at preventing deaths under similar circumstances in the future.
