Why not go to shariah law? There they cut off a thiefs hand for stealing -that harsh enough for you? Of course you wind up with countries like Iran, Iraq and Afghanistan, whose citizens would all love to live here. Give your head a shake. You get all worked up about a shoplifter and a baton? Count your blessings-you have a lot of them and seem not to appreciate it.

I was going to make a joke about how maybe they should ban batons, then i read they were already illegal. Am i the only one surprised by this? Am i the only one disgusted by this? Just how many restrictive little laws are we going to allow? Each little prohibition whittles away our freedom (not to mention making us look increasingly stupid)

I suggest that normal batons are legal. It would be the spring loaded baton, or retractable batons that may be illegal.

It makes little difference because the crook could pick up a big boulder and get the same result. I suspect if you hit someone over the head with a frozen Salmon, or Bologna then they would become illegal in this Country.
