Prince George- A traffic stop conducted by the Prince George Drug Section has resulted in the arrest of two males, one of whom is alleged to be a member of the Renegades Motor Cycle Club.

Charges are pending against the two, a 32 year old, and a 26 year old man, after eighteen pounds of marihuana was seized from the vehicle they were riding in. The value of the drugs is estimated at over $50,000 dollars.

A subsequent search of a home in the 200 block of Explorer Crescent, the residence of one of the accused turned up further evidence of drug trafficking as well as a sawed off shotgun, another prohibited weapon and some substances that police think maybe illicit drugs.

Good news. Any strike against the organized criminals is a positive result for society, even if it only slows them down a little. Keep up the good work.
metalman.
Eighteen pounds?

Nah, thats for their personal use.

Crap how many quaters can you get from 18 pounds? Im to tied up in the metric system to figure that one out.
Sounds like pretty accidental crime fighting, stopped for traffic violation and then discovered the pot.....
The cops would rather hand out seatbelt fines at a 4 way stop than actually bust criminals!
Better wear your seatbelt when this new task force gets going cuz the "crime fighting" at the 18th and Quinn 4 way stop is gonna be intense!
hmmmm...that would be about 1152 quarters assuming there is still 16 ounces in a pound.
So what does a quarter sell for now,or do they even deal that way anymore?
Back in the '60's we used to get good 'ol B.C.Green for 15 bucks a full OUNCE!
Guess I have been away a while!
I gotta get out more!
LOL the renegades still exist?
Corruption, you are such a tool...

Take your police-hating comments elsewhere. Or better yet, join the police force, strap on a gun and do something about it... UNLIKELY.
1. The police do seem more concerned about handing out traffic tickets than anything else.
2. Most crimes are solved by someone ratting out someone else, not by 'detective work'.
3. My understanding is that the Renegades have been pretty much relegated to dealing in the crumbs of the drug trade. I mean selling pot??? Isn't that for high school kids?
Selling pot, transporting pot, organizing grow ops is big business. Carrying around 18 pounds is not high school either. Acting on tips (rats) is also part of detective work. What exactly do some folk want anyway? Good story, good bust, why the complaining? BTW as i understand it, traffic cops are concerning mainly with ...traffic. They do their jobs because frankly, we need policing to keep people alive. Traffic accidents (many speed related) still kill more folk than any other crime.
By the way, the term 'ratting' has a negative connotation. For those of you who want to crack down on criminals it seems counter productive to look down on the best weapon the cops have. Maybe go one step further and call the cops on the grow op in the neighbourhood you know about.
Awe ha lol looks good on him. He's a real mouth piece too.
"1. The police do seem more concerned about handing out traffic tickets than anything else."

I don't see drug busts every day on my daily drive, but traffic cops are much more visible. It doesn't mean the police aren't concerned about drug busts. The traffic unit is probably what you see 90% of the time when you see police around.

"2. Most crimes are solved by someone ratting out someone else, not by 'detective work'."

And your point is? What is 'detective work' exactly? Much of it is about acting on tips. Who cares, as long as the job gets done.
I guess I was refering to the 'accidental crime fighting' comment. It wasn't really meant as a critcism, although my first point most definitely was. For instance, I would rather see more cops patrolling high crime areas and less on traffic.
I think quite often they get tips who is moving drugs and the result is a "traffic stop" resulting in a bust.
censored,

that was no accidental stop. The drug squad doesnt pull you over for a "traffic stop" unless they have other things in mind.

Some of you guys and girls don't realize how many under cover RCMP there are in PG. There's much more than a handful. I don't know what they are doing because I really don't care, but I assume it has a lot to do with pot along with other drugs. BC is the place for RCMP! We have way more than our share and this province pays more for them and pensions than any other province.
